RealWear Navigator™ 500 / 520 Firmware Release 2.2 Release Notes

This document provides public notice for RealWear Navigator 500 / 520 Series firmware release 2.2. This update will provide new features, further device support and bug fixes.

Overview

RealWear Firmware Release 2.2 for RealWear Navigator 500/520 Series devices. 

This firmware update includes minor additional feature updates with minor bug fixes.

Early Access: January 2, 2026

GA: February 2, 2026

Android Security update

  • Security updates released through the end of May 2025 has been incorporated into this release.

Dongle Icon update

  •  Changed dongle connected icon from LTE to 4G

Himax 2 Display issue

  • Fixed display issue reported from May 2025 Navigator Production Batch

 

App-level bug fixes

  • Fixed zoom level changing to level 1 when camera options are changed
  • Fixed video recording starting at zoom level 1 despite UI showing zoom level 

Verizon dongle support

  • Operating system now properly displays difference between 4G, 5G and 5G UW when a supported tethered dongle from Verizon is connected via USB-C
