Microsoft Power Apps on RealWear
Microsoft Power Apps is the front door to the apps at your work or school. The Power Apps player for RealWear runs the canvas and model-driven apps your organisation has already built on the Microsoft Power Platform, but on a head-mounted display instead of a phone or desktop.
Option 1: Install from the RealWear App Marketplace (recommended)
The marketplace is the simplest route and keeps devices up to date automatically.
- Sign in to the Microsoft Power Apps listing with your Ari Business Cloud account.
- Select Install and choose the devices or device groups to deploy to.
- Make sure target devices are powered, connected to Wi-Fi and not in active use so the install can complete.
Power Apps appears in My Programs on the device once installed.
Option 2: Install the APK manually or via Intune
If you would rather not use the marketplace — for example because you deploy applications through Microsoft Intune or another MDM — you can download the latest release directly:
Download Microsoft Power Apps for RealWear (App Center)
Open the link on a PC or Mac, sign in if prompted, and download the .apk from the most recent release. Then either upload it to Intune as a line-of-business app and assign it to your device groups, or install it directly over USB-C with adb install <filename>.apk. Reboot the device afterwards.
Designing apps for RealWear
Apps built for desktop or phone rarely work well on a head-mounted display. Keep screens simple, use large high-contrast targets, favour buttons and choices over free-text entry, and give every interactive control a clear label so it can be selected by voice. See developer.realwear.com for guidance.
