Firmware Release 1.2 Release Notes

This article provides release notes for RealWear Navigator 500™ firmware release 1.2, which is updated to the latest security patch, additional features, and minor bug fixes.

Overview

This release is only applicable to the Navigator 500 standard model. Any Navigator 500 sold by RealWear may update to this release. Earlier updates may need to be installed before 1.2 can be installed.

Android Security Updates

Security updates released through the end of April 2022 have been incorporated into this release.

Bug Fixes and Known Issues

Bug fixes and improvements have been made for this release. Contact RealWear support for any details on specific fixes or issues.

Camera

Improvements

The following camera improvements are included in this release:

  • Improved autofocus tuning.
  • Improved camera image stabilization.
  • Warmer tone to the Auto White Balance (AWB) setting.

Camera Zoom

Issue with maintaining camera zoom in and zoom out levels when using Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) is fixed.

Microphone Improvements

The following microphone improvements are included in this release:

  • Improved noise cancellation.
  • Improved voice recognition.
  • Reduced noise detection when not actively in use.

My Controls

The ability to enable or disable file transfers is added to the My Controls app.

Regulatory Compliance

Due to regulatory compliance, the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band is disabled for devices sold to Israel and Bahrain.

Speech Rate

Text-to-speech Application Programming Interface (API) support for speech rate is added.

Volume Buttons

The volume buttons on the device have been configured to be more intuitive.

  • The forward button increases the volume.
  • The rear button decreases the volume.

WearML Indicators

The default setting for WearML indicators is set to FADE NEVER.

Note: The previous default setting was FADE 3 SECONDS.
