Collaborate - Installing Microsoft Teams Plug-in

To install the Collaborate Microsoft Teams plug-in, you must have access to the Microsoft Teams store and the application must be ALLOWED within your company. The request to access the app can be completed while installing. 

1. Go to the Microsoft Teams store by selecting APPS from within your Teams client
2. In the search bar, type ‘realwear’  
3. Select the app called ‘RealWear’. 
4. Select Add 

This will add RealWear Collaborate to your Teams account. You can access the application by selecting the … on your Teams sidebar and selecting RealWear. 

To pin the RealWear application to your sidebar, right-click on the RealWear application and select PIN. 

What if 3rd party Teams apps are not allowed? 

Depending on your corporate app policy, the process for installing the Collaborate application may change, and you may need to request permission from your administrator first. 

In this case, you will not be able to select ADD; instead, you must Request approval.

Selecting this button will notify your Teams administrator that you want to add the plug-in.  

Once your Teams administrator has approved Collaborate, you can go back to the Teams store and this time you will have the option to Add the application. 

NOTE: Users are not automatically notified when an application is approved. It is advisable to follow up with your IT department to confirm the approval of the Collaborate plug-in.

With the plug-in approved, you will need to authorize and connect it on your Teams login.

Select Authorize and Connect.

Enter your Password to authorise the application.

Accept permissions.

You are now able to use RealWear Collaborate Quick Connect codes to support devices in the field.
