Can't Connect To The Dictation Service
Issue connecting to Cloud dictation service on your RealWear device
On Thursday, October 2nd 2025, an issue was identified in which the SDK version for Azure Dictation Services was deprecated by Microsoft.
If you are on Firmware version 2.1.3-23-C or lower, you may be experiencing this issue.
Resolution:
We have updated the SDK version to restore functionality. While the fix will be included in future firmware, if you require a quick fix, we recommend the following:
1. Download the updated Dictation Engine APK HERE
2a. Side-Load the APK onto your device by dragging it onto your device's mirrored screen in Vysor, downloadable here: https://www.vysor.io/
OR
2b. Upload the APK to your RealWear Cloud Workspace as an ENTERPRISE APP and deploy to your fleet of devices. Once synced, this will overwrite the previous version and restore functionality.
NOTE: You may need to say RECENT APPLICATIONS>DISMISS ALL to quit any apps on the device that are leveraging the dictation engine actively for it to begin working properly.
